What can we do to support a Circular Economy?
As consumers:
We can buy products made from recycled content. Is this something you look at when you buy something new? Start looking and ask sales assistants if they can point you towards products that have recycled content.
As businesses:
We can ask our suppliers if they have products made from recycled content. Look for suppliers that do. Let long term suppliers know when you find competitors that do have what your looking for and be prepared to support your longterm suppliers to transition.
Taking Responsibility for the Waste We Create Matters.
Future generations are counting on us turning this ship around.
Waste is not just a business expense or a council cost adding to your rates or cost to rent. What you can see when you look in your bins or skips doesn’t show you the water, the energy and the emissions that were used to make the waste you’re looking at. We can save the water, the energy and the emissions if we redesign these items to be reused, repurposed and remade into products that are currently made from new materials that need to be extracted, transported, processed and then entered into the materials economy.
